‘Following Seas’ is a great way to keep up with so much interesting news, and knowledge of the cruising lifestyle we all are experiencing, or wanting to experience. I am honored to be a contributor to ‘Following Seas’ an online encyclopedia of really interesting and educational articles produced for all our benefits by Bill Parlatore.
I recently received a really nice email from a gentleman who read my ‘Following Seas’ article of January 2018. His comment to me was, “I was pleased to come across your article of Jan 2018 in ‘Following Seas’. I wish I had read it and/or met you before I advised my wife that we should buy our current 1985 Pearson 36-2. Many summers later I am still working through a very long list of projects. And I have met many other sailboat owners in my current boatyard caught in the same inspired madness of boat restoration and upgrade.”
When searching for a boat of your dreams, you have to be practical and know what you want and how you are going to use it. Remember, also, what the consequences are of purchasing a boat. In the article, I hope to spell out some things you should be aware of, and, hopefully, will not fall into the pitfall that this man and his wife have had to live through after purchasing a boat that needed way too much work for them to enjoy.
Maybe this article will help others. And remember, I am always here to help as well.
Good luck to everyone searching for the boat of your dreams, but you can help make sure it does not become a nightmare!
Pam
