My Dad found Alpine Village Resort back in 1980! This is a wonderful secluded and peaceful little mountain side resort with lovely and cozy little Swiss Style Chalets, and magnificent views over towards and beyond the mountains of North Carolina. My entire family has been going to Alpine Village Resort every single year since 1980, and I will never tire of sitting on the balcony looking at the lovely trees up the mountains in the Fall, sitting by the fire at night, eating at fabulous restaurants nearby, and for those who like golf, well, probably the most beautiful golf course in the mountains with a lovely gurgling stream running through the fairway, Mt. Mitchell Golf Course. It is five minute drive to reach the famous and magnificent Blue Ridge Parkway, and only 45 minutes from AVL airport in Asheville.
There is almost too much to do, to see, to hike, to shop, to eat, drive along the Parkway, in the two weeks that we love at Alpine Village. Each of my sisters and my parents, and Andy and our family, would go up there in the Fall and each had their own little Chalet, but the entire family could get together, or be entirely alone, if wanted. It was a family reunion place we all looked forward to every Fall.
There are a few Chalet weeks left if you want to have a delightful holiday, away from traffic, tourists, noise, and buildings everywhere, this is the place to come! It is so peaceful, so quiet, with such mountain beauty surrounding the little Chalets.
Check out the web site and see what is still available, especially in the Fall when all the leaves are changing color, it is magnificent. Believe me, you will never want to leave!
